Sean Michael Gale was born in Ann Arbor, MI, and was raised in Berkley, CA and Philadelphia, PA.  He earned his BA in Political Economy at Syracuse University’s Maxwell School, and his B.Arch at Carleton University in Ottawa, ONT. and the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Grenoble in Grenoble, France.  After school he moved to Los Angeles, CA, working in the offices of Frank O. Gehry and Assoc., Brian Alfred Murphy Construction/Design and Marmol & Radziner before starting the studio in 2003.

 

Along the way, he’s also found time to surf and snowboard obsessively, help on the cleanup of Ground Zero, work on the 2004, 2008, 2010, 2012, and 2016 elections, travel around the world, and learn to cook an artichoke properly.

 

He lives in El Segundo, CA with his wife Rena, and his son Sagan who, while you're reading this, is likely squawking somewhere nearby.
